Description
Shown on Ordnance Survey second edition. In 1883 The Rock was described as 'in the heart of a populous and respectable locality'. On the ground floow there was a bar, news room, sitting room, office, wholesale store, aerated water manufactory and kitchen. Above was a billiard room, dining room, bedrooms and six attics. As well as a cellar, there was a bottling store, wine store, coachstore and stable. The Rock was acquired by W B Reid in 1921 for £4600. Reconstucted in the 1950s.
