1861 November 14th...Two days later, at 10am, the schooner RHODES of North Shields, loaded with ironstone, from Bornefs [sic] to the Tyne, was wrecked on the Herd Sand; the crew of four were rescued by the lifeboat NORTHUMBERLAND.
