Description
1830 wreck of English schooner which stranded north of Sunderland during a gale; a wooden sailing vessel.
`Sunday, May 13. On Saturday night last, during the heavy gale, a schooner, the LORD NELSON, of Whitby, was wrecked on the rocks north of this harbour...these three vessels have since been sold for the benefit of the underwriters.' (Durham County Advertiser)
