Description
Painshaw Stables shown 1819 plans adjacent to Penshaw House (HER 7043) depicted as a rectangular courtyard building. Earlier colliery stables may be shown on a 1775 plan although the exact function of these buildings is unknown. Labelled as Penshaw by 1920. Shown but not named on 1939 plan.
