Description
Large quarry shown as disused on the 2nd edition plan (1896). This does not figure on the 1862 plan. It was connected by a waggonway to the Lambton Railway line to the west. The course of the waggonway is followed by the present day Wensleydale Avenue. Its track had been mostly lifted by 1896.
