Description
A substantial ditch measuring approximately 70m in length, up to 3.80m wide and 2.14m deep with a c.10m wide east-facing entrance. Charred remains obtained from the lower fill of the ditch were radiocarbon dated to AMS 404-231 BC and 400-211cal BC, Middle Iron Age. The ditch was interpreted as the eastern boundary of a Middle Iron Age settlement that extended to the east of the excavation area.
