'From Gateshead Council’s 2013 Crawcrook Development Framework: “Adjacent to the southwestern corner of site 288 is a hill, known locally as Hill 60, which rises steeply up to a summit. This hill is valued locally for its amenity and recreation value, and allows for a panoramic view looking north across the Tyne Valley” “Hill 60 is a local landmark that has special meaning for the residents of Crawcrook, having been used for informal recreation and having probably taken its name from a battle of the First World War that local men took part in, while serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers.”'
