Description
Not depicted on 1737 plan by Burleigh & Thompson but shown on Rennie's map of 1819 as Black Fell or Mount Moor Staith. The name Blackfell Staith is ambiguously positioned on the First Edition Ordnance Survey 1862, but evidently refers to a timber yard with slipways on the north bank on the northern edge of North Biddick not at the end of Lambton Railway (HER3077) as previously thought.
