Description
This was Robson's Furniture Factory. The company had a shop in Northumberland Street. The factory opened on the site of Spital Tongues ropery (HER 4089) in the 1880s. Furniture for churches, offices, domestic use and ships (Mauretania and Berengaria) was made here. Ancrum Street, Oxnam Terrace and Dunns Terrace are named after border towns from which many of Robson's employees came from.
