Description
Coal Staiths (Nesham's Staith later Eden Main Staith), on the Wear at Painshaw, at the northern end of the Londonderry Railway, (HER 3081). Depicted on Burleigh and Thompson's 1737 map operated by John Hylton and John Nesham, later by Nesham alone (by 1775). Still shown on 1862 OS plan connected to rail tracks.
