Structure

This is a 40 ton sculpture of giant books by Colin Wilbourn (artist in residence for Tyne and Wear Development Corporation's St. Peter's project since 1991). Originally located at the North Dock Promenade, the sculpture has been moved to Sunderland University. Wilbourn's other piece is 'Red House', a sculpture in red sandstone from the former approaches to the Queen Alexandra Bridge. It represents a house fully furnished but empty of people.
