Description
Oakfield house, formerly the home of Sir Cecil Cochrane, became Westfield Girls School c.1960. The house is a good-quality ashlar building in the Italianate style, perhaps of the 1870s. A lodge to the former house is well hidden behind a stone boundary wall with heavy solid gates. A conservatory for Oakfield House called The Camellia House was recorded in 2007 ahead of its demolition.
