Description
1833 wreck of Scottish cargo vessel which stranded near the Spannish Battery on putting in at Shields, bound from Newry to London with a cargo of oats. Registered in Bo'ness [Borrowstounness], she was a wooden sailing vessel. The ST NINIAN the KEITH STEWARD (HER 14487) from Perth, and the FRIENDS (HER 14485) from Montrose, all bound to London, in putting in here, were driven on the rocks and are totally lost with their cargoes. The crews were saved.
