Description
In 1865 the temporary station of the Blyth and Tyne Railway (HER ref. 5118) was superseded when the spur was extended to a third station on a site just to the north of the Newcastle and Berwick Railway's station (HER ref. 1200). The 2nd edition Ordnance Survey plan shows the site marked as Tynemouth Goods and Fish Station, with expanded sidings, suggesting that by this time the station was no longer used for passengers.
