A Railway Spur which linked the Pontop and Jarrow Railway (HER ref. 1007) to the North Eastern Railway, Newcastle and South Shields Line (HER ref. 2509). It is not shown on the 1st edition Ordnance Survey plan, so was presumably built after 1855.
