Description

A 400 yard Rifle Range within a Quarry (HER ref. 2390). It is not shown on the 1st edition Ordnance Survey plan, so was presumably built after 1855. Its presence suggests that the quarry was out of use by 1895, when it appears on the 2nd edition Ordnance Survey plan.
