Shown on Ordnance Survey first edition of 1858. In September 1866 a meeting was held in Mr Spraggon's Wheatsheaf Inn. In November 1866 an event was held to hire hinds and domestic servants. In 1971 there were plans to demolish the pub and built a church on the site but this never happened. In 1973 the pub was converted into a house. It is now rendered and painted white.
