Description:
Substantial remains of a stone weir across the Ouseburn. Also the sluice gate exit for the mill race (HER 5757) which fed Jesmond Vale flint mill (HER 4142) and Ouseburn flint mill (HER 4328). There is stonework and concrete on the north side of the Ouseburn which must be the other side of the weir. This area was known historically as "Green Waterpool". There are photos in local studies library showing the weir dating from early 20th century.
