Description
Percy Street is one of four original streets in Tynemouth, known in the C14 as 'North Middle Rawe'. The theatre has been a methodist church, schoolhouse and was originally built as a Wesleyan chapel. The building next door to the chapel was formerly an inn. Many buildings have seen little change in the last 50 years. The numbers included in this entry include the whole street apart from a few mid C20 houses on the south-west side of the street.
