Description
Grave of Henry Frederick Swan, who formed the Cargo Fleet Iron Company at Middlesbrough in 1880. The Henry Frederick Swan Lifeboat was built during WW1 at the Cowes Yard of S.E. Saunders on the Isle of Wight, costing £6,901. A gift from the widow of H.F. Swan, who had been prominent in Tyne shipbuilding circles and was chairman of the Tynemouth branch of the RNLI. LOCAL LIST
