Description
1990 by Dawn Whitworth. Commissioned by Northumbria Police. A sculpture of a dove emerged from gun barrels, cast in dark brown metal. This design won a prize in a competition on the theme of peace organised by Newcastle Polytechnic and sponsored by Northumbria Police. The sculpture is cast from the metal of guns handed into police during a firearms amnesty in 1988.
