Description
1996 by William Pym with writing by Kathleen Raine from her poem 'The Healing Spring'. Located at the junction with the Killingworth Waggonway. A silver gate in galvanised steel 1.3m high and 8.4m wide with a large cut-out moth and cut lettering "PATIENTLY THE EARTH'S WOUNDS CLOSE. THE WOMB HEALS OF ITS SONS. AS BARK OVER A TORN BRANCH GROWS". West of the gate is a panel containing wildlife and other objects. Funded by Sustrans, North Tyneside Council and the Rising Sun Countryside Park. Part of the Sustrans National Cycle Network sea to sea (C2C).
