Description
1992 by Colin Wilbourn. Eleven steps lead down from the pedestrian walkway down into the marina basin, carved like a stair carpet. It has a key pattern and rope edging, which develops into chains and seaweed near to the water. There used to be a pair of shoes at the top of the stairs and a pair of wellington boots at the bottom but these have been stolen. The stone steps were part of the original docks but were re-carved as one of the earliest works for the St. Peter's Riverside Sculpture Project. There are railings along the jetty preventing people from walking on the relief.
