Description
January 1833 wreck of Scottish cargo vessel, which stranded at near the Spanish Battery on putting in at Shields. Bound from Perth to London, she was a wooden sailing vessel. The ST NINIAN (HER 14488), Scotland, from Newry, the KEITH STEWARD from Perth, and the FRIENDS (HER 14485) from Montrose, all bound to London, in putting in here, were driven on the rocks and are totally lost with their cargoes. The crews were saved.
