Description
Salvation Army Hall. On 1919 OS. Simple brick gable-fronted hall. Recently closed.
An absolutely plain little building devoid of architectural merit, but totally characteristic of the movement which once had building in quite a number of pit villages, and so of considerable social historical significance – probably the last pre-World War I Salvation Army building to survive in the district. Suggested as a contender for Listed Building Status by Peter Ryder.
