Description
Shaft, marked as Old on the 1st edition OS mapping, so was out of use by 1857. Two earthworks survive here of two concentric circles, interpreted as a "win-gin" (horse-driven winding engine) with the outer circle representing the circular course of the horse, and the inner circle the turning circle of the central shaft.
