The 1st edition Ordnance Survey plan shows two sets of Blyth & Tyne Staiths in the Northumberland Dock (HER ref. 2111), of which this was the eastern pair. They were at the southern end of one of the branches of the Blyth and Tyne Railway (HER ref. 1055).
