          Description
There used to be a wooden plaque on the fence at the corner of Front Street facing Manor Road. It was unveiled on 17th November 1918. The plaque has five panels. The centre panel had a pedimented top and a cross above it. There was a picture called 'Remembrance' of a grieving woman beside a wreath beneath the pediment. The names were on the other four panels. The plaque was fastened to railings and had a canopy over it. The wooden plaque was replaced by the cenotaph in 1938 (HER 7333) {www.newmp.org.uk}.
