Gardener's Houses
Description
Linear cropmark shown on a 1945 aerial photograph south of Gardener's Houses rectilinear enclosure (HER176). The feature stops at the former field boundary just below the enclosure. It has been suggested that the cropmark could be postholes associated with the nearby enclosure. However, they only appear on the 1945 AP raising the possibility that it may be an anti-aircraft feature from the Second World War. It should also be mentioned that the cropmark is on the same line as the ridge and furrow.
