Description
Former farmhouse. Restored as part of a development on South Lane. Rendered elevations with accurate replica sash windows and door surround. Neat side offshots behind a tall original limestone wall which marked the boundary of its estate. The grassed gardens would once have been part of the linear village green. The other farm buildings have been replaced by a one-and-a-half storey red brick terrace built around a courtyard in 2000-1. Natural slate has been used for the roof and the low stable-like form with arched openings retains the agricultural feel. Two passageways link South Lane and Front Street lined with limestone boundary walls.

Description
Shops with flats above. Built in 1904 on an open plot cleared of its farm. Three storey terrace in strong red brick. Shopfronts, bay windows, fanlights, doors and windows are in good condition and painted in appropriate colours. The shopfronts have polished granite plinths and recessed doorways with mosaic tilework. The bricked up shopfront of No. 60 (the club) spoils the group. The later dormer is also an unfortunate addition. No. 44/46 is the most intact with original windows. Rears are largely intact with various offshots, dormers, tall chimneys and yard walls.

Description
Simple limestone farmhouse and cottages enhanced by green banked gardens and porches. The rear of the house has four large Velux-style rooflights which detract from its character. The low limestone building to the east has been converted to garages for The Orchard on South Lane. The concrete tiles let this conversion down. The plot of No. 43 still stretches back to South Lane.
