Impressive house circa 1850. Brick with ashlar dressings. Detached, double-fronted, two storeys with pitched roof. There is a large attractive Victorian rear addition. A simple Classical sandstone doorcase and an overlight with margin glazing bars. Half-timbered gables on the Victorian extension. An early Victorian building, which is two storey and three bay with the central bay being recessed. It has a hipped roof with overhanging eaves. It has a Tuscan stone doorcase, and at ground floor level, a three-light window in the easterly bay and a three-sided bay window in the westerly bay. Notable occupants were the Fogg family (of "Fogg & Ellis", the former gents’ clothiers in Grey Street, Newcastle) and the Duffy family, including Joseph Duffy who died in office as Mayor of Wallsend in 1910 and built many of the terraces in the town. As well as the original two storey front section there is behind it a very late Victorian three-storey extension built by Mr. Duffy.
