Traces of medieval structures including flagged flooring and a drain were found associated with pottery to the rear of Westgate.

The outline of a possible infilled pond and various other associated features including walls, were detected by geophysical survey at this location south of the castle in 1994-5.

The remains of buildings and other features, some interpreted as pits were detected by geophysical survey at this location west of the castle in 1994-5.

The ploughed out remains of ridge and furrow were detected by geophysical survey at this location in 1994-5. A number of other enigmatic features, including pits were also detected.

The Bay Horse Public House is shown on the 2nd edition Ordnance Survey map, but not on the 1st edition, suggesting that it opened sometime in the second half of the 19th century.

An ‘old Quarry’ is shown on the east side of Gardeners Houses on the 2nd edition Ordnance Survey map, but not on the 1st edition, suggesting that it had been in operation between c.1855 and c.1898.

This was East Boldon's largest Victorian villa built in extensive grounds. The house was demolished in the late 20th century and replaced with a block of sheltered housing.

Moory Spot is a farm complex which dates to at least 1820 as it is labelled on Greenwoods Plan of Northumberland and is shown in detail on a Plan of Dinnington c.1820. The first edition plan shown is as comprising buildings arranged around a central yard, with attached paddocks and a circular engine house for a horse-driven threshing machine attached to the rear of the west side building, presumably the threshing barn. It appears with extensions on the 2nd edition Ordnance survey plan of c.1898.
