1855 wreck of English sloop which foundered 2.5 miles off Tynemouth Light after a collision while on route from Stockton-on-Tees for Shields with iron; a wooden sailing vessel. `Warkworth, 9th Nov. The FRIENDSHIP (sloop) of and from Stockton for Shields, with iron, was run down by a schooner at 11pm on the 7th Nov.; crew picked up by the ZEALOUS, Dawson, arrived here.

`Blyth, 9th Nov. The ALBION, Baldry, of and from Yarmouth, which arrived here yesterday, came in collision with a loaded sloop about 2.5 miles NE of the Tynemouth light; the sloop was not seen afterwards.'
