The approximate location of the Eppleton windmill has been identified through field names recorded on the tithe plan. The mill is probably of medieval date.

The approximate location of the Moorsley windmill has been identified through field names recorded on the tithe plan and Dean and Chapter Estate Plan. It seems at Moorsley a cart track led from either end of High Moorsley to the hilltop where the windmill was situated. Moorsley's mill is mentioned in Priory records of 1340 but does not feature after the mid 14th century. It may have gone out of use by this time due to the demise in population. Dated C14th.

Hetton Mill at the northern end of the township below the confluence of Hetton Burn and Rough Dene. The mill belonged to the manorial lords of the township, the de Latons and their successors, but it does figure in a number of the charters issued by William de Laton in the 13th century, recording grants of land to free tenants, in particular Geoffrey Mody of Hetton and his descendants. Rebuilt in the 18th century, closed in the 1950s. Dated C12th.
