SITEDESC
Shown on Ordnance Survey second edition. Joseph Clark was the proprietor from 1850. There was also a spirit shop, cellars, tap room, dwelling house and brewery capable of producing 12 half-barrels. Gateshead brewer Isaac Tucker bought the pub in 1874. In 1899 it was acquired by Arrol's. It closed in 1905 to become tenements. The name Swan with Two Necks probably derives from 'two nicks' - owners of ornamental fowls branded their birds by cutting nicks on their bills.
