SITEDESC
1841 wreck of English collier which stranded at Sunderland. Constructed of wood, she was a sailing vessel. Master: Tanner. The name of the vessel and her port of registry is strongly suggestive of her involvement in the local coal trade, since the Marquis of Londonderry was one of the major coalfield owners in the area at the time. The vessel has therefore been indexed as a collier.
