Having left Sunderland, this wooden sailing vessel was returning almost immediately to pick up some of her crew who had been left behind. `On Saturday morning last, the JOHN AND SARAH, Atchinson, of Sunderland, was wrecked on the rocks behind the South Pier of that port. Some of the boys being wanting at the time the ship sailed, she hove-to, and was cruizing in-shore waiting for them, when she struck, and has since gone entirely to pieces.' {Newcastle Courant 20-OCT-1810, No.6993 Page 4}.

En route from Kirkaldy to Sandwich and/or Dover, she was a wooden sailing vessel. `On Monday se'nnight, the HANNAH, Primrose, of Kincardine, loaden with coals for Sandwich, was driven on shore behind the South Pier at Sunderland in attempting to get into the harbour, and in a few hours went entirely to pieces. The crew were taken out by the lifeboat, and such of the wreck and materials as were driven ashore, were taken care of by Mr Shout, the engineer of the port, whose exertions on such occasions are very praiseworthy.' {Tyne Mercury 07-APR-1812, No.515 Page 3}. The Master was Primrose. Another ship called HANNAH was wrecked off Sunderland in 1857 (HER 14072).
