2002 by Simon Watkinson. Four perspex cubes with glass and LEDs set flush into the plinth of Grey's Monument. Each cube contains an image of Earl Grey's head from a different angle, taken from the head of the statue when it was being cleaned. Commissioned by the Grainger Town Partnership.

1990 by Andrew Burton. A bronze smaller-than-life statue of a lion with casts of drive chain used for the mane. 'Lion' was exhibited at Gateshead Garden Festival before being moved to the Business Park. Commissioned by Newcastle Business Park.

2000 by Charles Jencks. A 4.5m tall galvanised steel spiral representing the DNA double helix. Commissioned by the International Centre for Life.

'Elephant Under a Moroccan Edifice'. 1990 by Andrew Burton. A bronze statue of an elephant with a large building seemingly growing out of it. Commissioned by Tyne and Wear Development Corporation.

2002 by Kenneth Armitage. A coloured bronze statue in the lane between the two buildings. A similar piece called 'Both Arms' is sited at Millennium Square, Leeds.Commissioned by Parabola Developments.

2000 by Sir Eduardo Paolozzi. Bronze statue of a robotic man in the form of Vulcan, God of the forge. Lies close to Robert Stephenson's workshop in South Street. Commissioned by Parabola Estates.

2002 by Artscope. Three conical pillars, split into four sections in stainless steel with shot blasted pewter-like finish and perspex. The lamps are on a flight of steps in front of the library and reduce in size to emphasise perspective. The tubular top of the lamp represents a figure diving into the pool. At night there are blue lights in the slots in the lamps. Commissioned by Newcastle City Council.

2002 by Artscope. The artwork on the gable end of the building facing the square takes elements of local history from the Roman period to the present. There are also three decorative steel infill panels in the square. A reset section of Hadrian's Wall, which was archaeologically excavated before the square was created is on display. The position of the cippi pits is marked by steel markers in the pavement.

2001 by Thomas Heatherwick Studios. Located at east end of Blue Carpet linking the city centre with Manors. A broad curving spiral staircase constructed in laminated marine ply. The top surface is cedar. Each piece has been individually cut and shaped by hand. Commissioned by Newcastle City Council.

2001 by Thomas Heatherwick. An urban space of blue glass tiles in resin. The purpose-made tiles are laid across the square and ride up against the gallery. Commissioned by Newcastle City Council.
