1991 by Christine Hill. Concrete with laquer coating. Inscribed plaque nearby reads: "THE BLACK RHINOCEROS BY CHRISTINE HILL. ARMSTRONG WORLD INDUSTRIES LTD MAKERS OF RHINOFLOOR AND THE MUSEUMS AND GALLERIES COMMISSION HELPED US PUT UP THIS SCULPTURE AS A REMINDER THAT THE RHINO, ONE OF THE WORLD'S GREAT ANIMALS IS THREATENED WITH EXTINCTION BY THE GREED OF MANKIND. 1991".

2004/5 by Mr Yonglai Zhang. Constructed by 12 craftsmen from the Changsu Classical Garden Construction Company (Group) Ltd from Changsu, in the Jiangsu Province between October 2004 and January 2005. Formally opened to the public on 21 February 2005. The arch has two columns with one span and a roof with two levels. It is 11m high and has a span of 9m. It is decorated with carved and painted animals, mostly dragons and phoenixes, in golden yellow, green, blue and red. The seven panels on the arch are decorated with scenes or figures from Tyneside. Two lions stand at the base of the arch. Stowell Street became known as Newcastle's 'China Town' in the early 1980s.

2003/4 by Eilis O' Connell. A conical sculpture with mirror-polished surface, set in the centre of a circular paved area at the bottom of Bath Lane. The sculpture is placed off-centre on a sloping site, balancing on its narrow end, as if it defies gravity. The outer surface of the cone is 6mm stainless steel sheeting attached to a stainless steel framework of circular strips and longitudinal ribs.

1996 by Neil Talbot and Graciela Ainsworth. Commissioned by Tyne and Wear Development Corporation. Based on the eighteenth century sone 'Weel may the Keel row'. A sandstone wall with carvings of keel boats. Neil Talbot was head of sculpture at Northumbria University in 1992 and 1993.

By Cate Watkinson and Jane Dudman. A sculpture in aluminium and anodised glass designed with Chillingham Road Primary School. The weathervane hangs down from the canopy of the Copthorne Hotel. Commissioned by Art on the Riverside.

2002 by Simon Jones and Robert Belilios. Ceramic pastel coloured tiles on the footbridge between the platforms. The tiles show fifty abstracted 'tags' (graffiti used to sign individual presence) in cartoon speech bubbles. Commissioned by Nexus.

1999 by Elinor Eastwood. Four pairs of panels on platforms one and two in vitreous enamel. The text and artwork was by pupils of St. Mary's RC Comprehensive School. The panels butt together like pages of a book, and feature pebbles. Commissioned by Nexus.

1988 by Anthony Lowe. A picture in ceramic tiles using photographic silk screens of commuters and metro staff on a rush hour train. Commissioned by Nexus.

2002 by Ron Hasleden. A circle of light, 11m in diameter, made up of two concentric rings, one yellow, one white neon. The shape of the circle depends on where the viewer is standing. Commissioned by Nexus.

1996 by Bob Olley. A mural showing fourteen local figures (including Cardinal Basil Hume, Jimmy Nail, Mike Neville, Robson Greene and Brenden Foster) in acrylic. Commissioned by Nexus.
