1986 by Richard Cole. A sculpture in stone blocks and earth 30m long and 15m wide. The granite blocks came from the old Scotswood Bridge. Resembles a fortification on the top of the hill, a former colliery pit heap. Known locally as 'the fortress'.

1995 by Fred Watson. Located in the courtyard of the Tranwell (mental health) Unit. A sculpture in white granite consisting of an arch and a stairway of books, a telephone, tablecloth, a vase and an apple. The artist says that it is designed to show the delicate balance of mental health (Newcastle Journal, 13 December 1995). Only accessible by permission.

A silver gate in galvanised steel 1.3m high and 8.4m wide with a large cut-out moth and cut lettering "PATIENTLY THE EARTH'S WOUNDS CLOSE. THE WOMB HEALS OF ITS SONS. AS BARK OVER A TORN BRANCH GROWS". West of the gate is a panel containing wildlife and other objects. Funded by Sustrans, North Tyneside Council and the Rising Sun Countryside Park. Part of the Sustrans National Cycle Network sea to sea (C2C).

Further south is another steel marker and a carved brick sculpture. The steel markers are painted yellow and red, and comprise of a compass surrounded by a cut-out bird, diver's helmet, crane and lighthouse. The bench is painted green and has cut-out animals and plants set into its back. Commissioned by Tyne and Wear Development Corporation.

1994 by Chris Sell assisted by Primetime Sculptors. Two high-backed wooden chairs set against a hedge overlooking fields towards Birtley. Each chair is carved in relief with designs in contrasting yellows and greens - the left chair has a farmer and tractor on the top and a plough and harness on the front, the right chair has a miner in a bucket on the top and a shovel on the front. Commissioned by Gateshead MBC.
