In 2018 an evaluation targeted the remains of St Lawrences Cattle Sanatorium however, found the concrete and brick remains of Spiller's Mill constructed in the 1930s.

Six bombs were dropped on St. Peter's, setting Robson's timber yard alight, destroying 40 houses and damaging many more. Five people were killed. The Hare and Hounds was severely damaged. An attempt was made to rebuild it but it never re-opened, The licence was transferred to the Commercial in Raby Street, which was renamed the Hare and Hounds.
