Shown on Ordnance Survey second edition. Badly damaged by air raids on 1 and 2 September 1941. Six bombs were dropped on St. Peter's, setting Robson's timber yard alight, destroying 40 houses and damaging many more. Five people were killed. The Hare and Hounds was severely damaged. An attempt was made to rebuild it but it never re-opened, The licence was transferred to the Commercial in Raby Street, which was renamed the Hare and Hounds.
