Description
The existing feature is possibly that shown on the 3rd and 4th editions OS, but appears to have been substantially rebuilt. It is single arched, the arch being turned in firebricks and apparently the oldest part of the structure. The sides and parapets are built of a mixture of sandstone rubble and "rusticated" blocks with stihl-saw cut margins, which were probably added when the surrounding area was landscaped in the late 20th century.

This is marked on the 1st edition OS 1858, apparently running from the fields forming the northern part of Greenwell Mill Farm down to the mill pond belonging to Haggerstone's Mill (HER 3422). It does not appear on subsequent editions of the OS. The form and function of this feature are unknown. There are no visible remains, although "collects" are shown on the modern OS map which presumably fed the stream.

Description
A high-level footbridge served by two converging tracks on the east side of the valley and crossing the waggonway lines to link with the south-east end of Mill Lane. This first appears on the 3rd edition OS of 1914, and was necessitated by the expansion of tracks and rail traffic associated with Priestman Collieries' use of Blaydon Burn Colliery. The feature has now been replaced by a double flight of stone steps providing access from the central track to the top of the valley, but a brick pier to the left of the present structure may have carried pipework associated with the original structure.

Concrete structure protruding from the south bank just to the northeast of a fork in the central waggonway. Structure measures approximately 10m across and 3m high and includes a central, rectangular alcove measuring 3m x 1.5m. Structure originally built of yellow brick but completed faced in shuttered concrete and inset with several ceramic pipes for bank drainage. Function unknown but possibly an emergency refuge adjacent to a spur of the waggonway running south of the coke works.

Description
High section of brick walling against bank just below entrance to Betsey Pit. Constructed of yellow firebrick the wall includes a number of drainage holes and a rectangular opening near the base which maybe for the chute associated with the pit entrance. Wall appears to be a retaining wall against the steep bank. Does not appear on any of the historic OS maps. Date is uncertain but structure contains "Cowen M" bricks indicating that it was constructed after 1926.

Description
An extensive stretch of retaining wall which defines the east side of the central waggonway (Figure 14). This feature does not appear as a distinct wall line until the 3rd ed. OS (1914) although in parts it may date to the foundation of the Blaydon Burn waggonway in the 19th century (2nd edition OS 1896). Unlike the corresponding retaining wall to the north (26), the wall shows predominately one phase of build although it has been re-enforced and repaired in a number of areas. The wall on this side is much lower than to the north and therefore under less danger of collapse.

The wall is built of sandstone rubble, fairly evenly coursed, with some larger squared sandstone blocks (Plates 44 and 45) and runs along the south side of the central wagonway from a point opposite the coal drop. At the north eastern end the wall measures just over 2m high but gradually slopes down until it measures less than 0.5m at the north western end. A set of stairs provided access from the central track to the upper wagonway (Plate 46).","072-075","Variable, mostly good."
